The Scouts movement is for everyone
Scouts is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills, and everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races, and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.
In Beavers, you will make new friends and have fun new adventures, for 6 to 8 years.
Scouts is for 10 1/2 to 14 years, with new challenges and lots of new adventures.
All the latest news...
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges. Take a look at our young people on some of their adventures.
In Scouts we gain skills for life
Every week the Scouts movement give almost half a million 4-25 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
Sign up to help your child discover their ‘thing’: from abseiling to coding to performance art and everything in between.
Scouts love earning awards and badges
You name it, we’ve got a badge for it – over 200 of them. Scouts work together on badges at their weekly meetings, away at camps and events, or at home.
There’s no pressure, Scouts can do as many or as few as they like. But for those up for a challenge, there are loads of exciting badges to aim for, such as the Chief Scout’s Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. These are the highest awards that Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can earn.
Our uniform gives a sense of belonging
Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the group.
Our uniform consists of a sweatshirt or shirt that you can sew badges on and a coloured scarf or ‘necker’ to represent your local group. There’re lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, trousers or shorts.
