Thornton Scout Group are pleased to announce the re-launch of Beavers Section, which re-opened on October 1st 2012!
We’re presently on the look-out for new members and leaders – if your interested then please fill in out form on our Register For Beavers page to be kept up-to date with our latest progress!
Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in The Scout Association and are aged 6 – 8 years old. Our Beaver Colony would usually meet on a Monday between 5.45pm and 6.45pm at Thornton Primary School. If you are interest in helping out but these times are unsuitable, please get in touch as we can always look to rearrange.
Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between seven years and six months and eight years six months. Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony. Sleepovers are usually reserved for Cubs and Scout however Beaver undertake day trips and events.
